Sarah Housley
I’m a freelance design futurist and innovation researcher with more than fourteen years' experience in tracking and forecasting trends. My background is in product design, and I specialise in design futures and ethical innovation strategy. My writing and research has explored subjects ranging from ambient AI to solar power; from the circular design economy to the rise of biodesign.
I'm the former Head of Consumer Tech at WGSN, the world’s biggest trend forecasting company. I was also a Sustainability Ambassador for WGSN, and authored its annual, flagship cross-industry forecast, Future Innovations. Previously, I was Senior Strategist at WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors, heading up all Lifestyle content, from Wellness and Experience Design to Travel & Hospitality, Transport, and Craft & DIY.
I’ve been lucky to enjoy frequent international travelling and speaking opportunities throughout my career, including at Dutch Design Week, iF Chengdu and the London Design Festival. I’ve consulted directly with leading global brands on topics ranging from the future of water, to how lifestyle shifts in the home translate to CMF for product design, to the changing relationship between humans and robots.
I’m a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies.
